Could there be anything better than a hot, fresh brewed cup of coffee? I love my coffee. I don’t drink a lot, just a couple or three cups in the morning.
If you are looking for an ‘expert’, that’s not me.
Rather: I am combining 2 of my great loves, coffee and blogging to see where this venture will take me.
Coffee is one of my guilty pleasures. I started getting snobby about seeking a better brew than Maxwell House out of a can. I did a little research and bought a burr coffee grinder and started buying only whole bean coffee. It certainly made a better brew.
Next I started experimenting with different coffee beans. My current favorite (subject to change) is Sumatra Mandheling.
But I wanted to step it up a notch.
My current progression and interest is in roasting my own beans at home. I am starting with simple, less expensive ways to do it. Did you know that you can roast your own coffee beans at home, and it’s really easy? If you think that the aroma of your fresh ground coffee beans can’t be beat, get a home coffee roaster, you’ll be in Java Heaven.
Over to the right there is my current coffee station, my Cusinart burr grinder, proctor Silex hot water kettle, 4-cup drip coffee maker – which I really just use for the pot and hot plate, my SR-500 Coffee bean roaster and my French press.
I am a recently retired substance abuse therapist. I have an insatiable curiosity, love researching the internet and blogging. I live in West Palm Beach, FL with my cat, Grayson. I drive a slightly modified red Ford Mustang convertible (my midlife crisis retirement treat).
It is my sincere wish that you enjoy the blog and what love to here your comments or questions. My cat, Grayson & I wish you the best.
